Bodies of nine missing fishermen recovered


Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard have recovered the bodies of nine fishermen, who went missing in a trawler capsize in the Meghna River during cyclone Bulbul on Sunday.

Coast Guard members recovered the bodies from Mehendiganj area in the river in the evening.

Details of the deceased are yet to be known.

Mehendiganj Police Station officer-in-charge Abdur Rahman confirmed the matter.

Earlier, a trawler carrying 24 fishermen capsized in the river around 1.00pm on their way of returning home after selling hilsa in Barishal markets.

Coast Guard recovered 10 bodies after the incident, four are still missing.
