JSC examinee sits for exam leaving father’s body at home

MIRZAPUR, TANGAIL, Nov 9: A Junior School Certificate (JSC) examinee sat for the examination leaving his father's body at home in Mirzapur Upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The examinee is Mehedi Hasan, 14, son of late Mojibur Rahman of Sonatala Village under Latifpur Union in the upazila.
As a student of SK Pilot Government High School, he attended the Islam and Ethical Studies examination at Mirzapur Government College Centre on the day.
Centre Secretary Md Masudur Rahman said necessary steps have been taken to help Mehedi sit for the examination in a comfortable environment.
Hearing the news, many teachers including Head Teacher of SK Pilot Government High School expressed their shock.
Mehedi's family sources said Mojibur Rahman, 58, felt sick and later died at Kumudini Hospital early Wednesday. He worked as a Junior Statistics Assistant Officer in Kaliakoir Upazila of Gazipur District. His janaja was held at 2pm, after Mehedi's examination ended.
