Three persons killed in three districts

Three persons were killed in separate incidents in three districts- Munshiganj, Rajshahi and Madaripur, in three days.
MUNSHIGANJ: A man was killed allegedly in an attack by his rivals over land dispute in Sirajdikhan Upazila of the district on Friday afternoon.
Deceased Mir Ali, 55, was a resident of Purba Chanderchar Village in the upazila.
Locals said Mir Ali had been at loggerheads with co-villager Kazim Uddin Kamu over the ownership of a piece of land. Following this, an altercation happened in the afternoon.
At one stage, Kazim and his cohorts attacked Mir Ali's family, leaving Mir Ali, his brother Md Aziz Molla, 45, and sister Shahida Begum, 50, injured.
The injured were rushed to Sirajdikhan Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared Mir Ali dead.
But, no injury marks were found on the deceased's body, said the health complex physician Md Shafiqur Rahman.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sirajdikhan Police Station (PS) Md Farid Uddin said the body was sent to Munshiganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy, and the reason behind the death will be known after the autopsy.
RAJSHAHI: An elderly man was allegedly killed by his neighbour over land dispute at Bhallukgachhi Chakpara Village in Puthia Upazila of the district on Thursday morning. Deceased Abdus Salam, 70, was the son of late Kaher Mondal of the village.
Local sources said following the land dispute, Abdus Salam and his neighbour Sumon locked in an altercation in the morning. At one stage, Sumon hit on Salam's head with a bamboo stick, leaving him seriously injured.
Family members rushed him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, where died at 5pm.
Puthia PS OC Rezaul Islam confirmed the incident.
MADARIPUR: A student of Gachhbaria Qawmi Madrasa in Sadar Upazila of the district died on Wednesday night as its Head Teacher Yusuf Ali beat him mercilessly over suspicion of stealing money.
Deceased Asif, 7, was the son of Anwar Matbor of Srenatdi Village under Kendua Union in the upazila, and a student of class two at the madrasa.
The deceased's father alleged that the head teacher beat his son up over the issue, leaving him seriously injured. He was rushed to Madaripur Sadar Hospital where he died on Wednesday night.




Medical Officer of the hospital Dr Akhil Sarker said Asif died due to severe beating.
Sadar PS OC Sowgatul Alam said police arrested a teacher of the madrasa Abul Bashar but the head teacher went into hiding.
