Eti Akter winner of ‘SAPNA Ma Sera Dosh’
Eti Akter from Kaliganj Upazila was crowned as Sara Ma in the competition of 'SAPNA Ma Sera Dosh' after final held at BRAC Centre Inn of Mohakhali in the city on November 2.
Fatema Akter from Lakshmipur sadar was adjudged as second runner up while third runner up was Razia Begum from Ramgoti. Special recognition for SAPNA Ma went to Nandita Mondol.
The competition was organized with 12 mothers from 12 upazilas who received maternity allowance center 'dream package' implemented by the Department of Women's Affairs, taking into consideration the family health, education, culture, socio-economic life standard, personality, leadership and beauty of the mothers. The theme of the programme was 'SAPNA Ma; Swapner Desh, Agami Prithibir Bangladesh'.
Top three of 'SAPNA Ma Sera Dosh' awarded and crowned in this programme which was organised by a Non-Government organisation, Development Organisation of the Rural Poor (DORP).
The Jury Board selected the mothers from 12 Upazilas of SAPNA Package and selected 'SAPNA Ma Sera 10' through transparent procedures and competition.
The Minister of Planning M. A. Mannan, MP was present as chief guest at the programme organized by the Non Government Organization DORP.
Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Chairman of PKSF was present their as special guest.
The Goodwill Ambassador of 'DORP SAPNA Ma Foundation' Miz Shweta Varpe was present their and exhibited yoga on 'Mind- Body-Fitness'.
The founder of DORP and Pioneer/Path-finder of Maternity Allowance and SAPNA Package AHM Nouman describes the aims and objectives of the programme at the beginning.
During the programme selected mothers presented the 'Mother's Parliament' session and met with the judges questions.
Rasheda K Chowdhury, Executive Director of Campaign for Popular Education, Farida Yasmin, General Secretary of National Press Club, and Ilias Kanchan, Chairman of 'Nirapod Sarak Chai' and member of the Advisory Committee of DORP were the judges of the final round.
Others contestants were given consolidate prize with prize bond and certificate.
On the occasion, the organisers and the guests demanded that the implementation of maternity allowance center 'SAPNA Package' be implemented across the country to alleviate poverty and achieve SDG goals. The Vice Chancellor of World University of Bangladesh, Prof. Dr. Abdul Mannan Choudhury inaugurated the signing campaign on the demand of nationwide 'SAPNA Package' expansion.
The top ten contestants from 10 upazilas were Nandita Mondol from Tungipara, Eti Akter from Kaliganj, Sabina Yasmin from Chatkhil, Rabeya begum from Komolnagar, Shyamoli Akter from Singra, Newa Akter from Sremangal, Salma begum from Meherpur, Minara Begum from Doulatkhan, Lipi Begum from Ulipur and Rekha Akter from Lakshmipur Sadar.
