Coach pleased at boys' fitness
Bangladesh national football team head coach James Day said he was pleased with the boys at their fitness ahead of the Oman match in the Preliminary Joint Qualification Round-2 for FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 scheduled to be played on 14 November.
They boys who were scheduled to fly for Oman on Sunday at night left Dhaka on Monday in the morning following a technical dilemma with the Aeroplane that delayed the boys about 12 hours.
Coach James and skipper Jamal Bhuiyan were not with the team during the flight. They joined the team in Oman. There were no practice sessions on the day as the boys were tired. So, coach gave them a break.
The boys in red and green outfits had light practice for last two days. The conditioning camp is going on well. Ahead of the qualifying match, a practice match is likely to be played on November 9.
James was in a vacation recently while many of the players of national team were busy playing in the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup. The rest of the players were given individual task to maintain their fitness. The dietary chart was to be maintained strictly.
Now, observing the condition and fitness of the boys, the English coach was pleased. He said, "I wanted to examine the fitness of the boys in the first day session and was pleased that they are in good health and condition."
There was a recovery session in the morning on Wednesday at the team hotel. The temperature in Oman is 30 to 33 degree, quite similar to the condition in Bangladesh.
