SED Foundation hosts environmental autumn school 2019
Strategy for Environmental Development Foundation (SED) in Sheikh Hasina National Youth Centre organized the closing ceremony of 1st environmental autumn school, 2019 at the capital's Waterfall Restaurant & Convention Hall on 26th October 2019 followed by previous 5 days long residential programme. The thematic topic for the camp was "Climate Change & Refugee". Participants of this programme were undergraduate and graduate students of domestic and international universities.
Sessions were conducted on various topics encircling environment, climate change, Law and legal systems, refugee and displacement and many other things. The sessions were devised in a way so that the schooling would be enough for a participant to learn everything needed to step in the field of environment and refugee. Besides, the sessions were interactive including activities like, group discussions, Q/A sessions, Group work. For making participants acquainted with the procedures of international and national environmental bodies, participants were asked to submit a draft convention and policy.
Participants of the school received their certificates along with best performance awards at the closing ceremony from Justice Mirza Hussain Haider, Honourable Judge of Appellate Division, Supreme Court of Bangladesh and Shah Monjurul Hoque, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh. The convener of the programme ABM Imdadul Haque Khan bequeathed his welcome note and focused specifically on the climate change issue and refugee problem. Javed Rasin, President of SED was chair of the programme. Apart from the participants and volunteers, other members of SED foundation were present in the closing ceremony.
The much talked event gathered some massive media partners along with the strategic education partner- University of West of England, Bristol, UK.
