Women entrepreneurs of BD summit 2019 held
A 'WEBD Women Entrepreneurs Summit 2019' was organized in Bangladesh for the first time, initiated by Women Entrepreneurs of Bangladesh- WEBD and supported by Evally. The programme was held on October 25 with Tina F Zabin, Investment Advisor, Start-up Bangladesh, ICT Division as chief guest. Barrister Sayed Sayedul Haque Sumon, Prosecutor, International Crimes Tribunal, Iqbla Bahar Zahid, Director Optimax Communication Limited and Found 'Nijer Bolar Moto Golpo' were present as special guests.
WEBD chairperson Sharmin Akter (Saj) anchored the programme.
The Mission of WEBD is empowering through entrepreneurship and to create 21,000 entrepreneurs by 2030 to reduce the unemployment rate of Bangladesh and reach the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
WEBD organized the summit to highlight the possibilities and implementation of entrepreneurship sector and also to build up a strong community between the entrepreneurs and would be entrepreneurs.
Almost more than 30per cent contribution in our economy comes from women. So this is the time to show gratitude to the women for their every step of progress and to make them feel how much special they are. Women Entrepreneurs Summit 2019 addressed women entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs, marketers, and lots of people together where everyone will get a big platform in a rooftop for networking, which will help each other to grow up their business.
By this programme they began two training programme to fulfill the mission and vision of WEBD with the heading of -Empowering Women through Entrepreneurship and Be a Tech preneur - Work from home.
Women Entrepreneurs of Bangladesh (WEBD) started with the purpose of establishing an extensive network of Bangladesh female entrepreneurs and to build an economic empowerment of women.
Women Entrepreneurs of Bangladesh (WEBD) is a non-profit, non-political organization. WEBD is exclusively working on Women entrepreneurships, employment as well as women's economic and social empowerment. WEBD is established in April 2018 with an enlightened aim to encourage and strengthen women's participation in the private sector as entrepreneurs through promoting a women friendly business environment. WEBD is a strong community voice, lobbying for micro to macro women entrepreneurs to assists their growth and to improve their social and economic prospects. The women entrepreneurs of Bangladesh are energetic, willing to learn, innovative, hardworking, and are willing to take risks. Small amount of assistance is extremely effective for them to graduate from micro to more sustainable small and medium sized entrepreneurs. Recognizing this potential of women entrepreneurs to play a more effective role in private sector development in the country.
WEBD is also doing various tech oriented project and activities to assist the government in building Digital Bangladesh.
