Tamim Iqbal skips India series
Imrul called in squad
Bangladesh opening batsman Tamim Iqbal had took out himself from the upcoming India series. It was supposed that Tamim could miss some early matches for nib injury, who was assumed to skip the T20i series later on to stay beside his pregnant wife but the BCB confirmed on Saturday that he is going to pull out himself from the whole tour.
Tamim went in rest from all cricketing activities for two months after busy sporting calendar till the last World Cup. The southpaw batsman however, returned to action with the ongoing NCL but sustained finger injury playing two rounds.
The BCB named another southpaw opener Imrul Kayes to succeed Tamim in the squad.
All-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin had been ruled out of the India tour due to a persistent back injury and went out of action for about three months. The BCB however, called no replacement of Saifuddin and hence, a 14-man Tigers' troop going to make the trip in India for the three-match T20i series. The Test squad is yet to announce.
