Pry teachers threaten to boycott PEC exams

Teachers of government primary schools have threatened to boycott the upcoming Primary Education Completion (PEC) examination scheduled to begin from November 17 if their demands are not met by November 13.

They were gathering in front of Central Shaheed Minar since Wednesday morning to hold their pre-scheduled mass rally.

But police foiled their programme. Later, the agitating teachers took position in front of Doel Chattar failing to hold the rally.

From there, they gave an ultimatum to eliminate salary discrimination by November 13 and also to arrange a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina within this period.

The teachers also warned that they will put the educational institutions under lock and key if their demands are not met by this deadline.
