Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday instructed the authorities concerned to ensure necessary access roads, public toilets and reservoirs for preserving rain water to supply drinking water for the travellers.
At the same time, she has asked the authorities to construct store rooms in all cyclone centres across the country to ensure maximum facilities for the beneficiaries.
The instructions were given at the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting held at the NEC conference room on Tuesday.
After the meeting, Planning Minister MA Mannan briefed media about the outcome of the meeting.
The meeting gave approval to a project to set up a chancery complex at Jeddah in Saudi Arabia in a bid to facilitate the operations of the Bangladesh Mission at Jeddah with an estimated cost of Tk 208.79 crore.
Mannan said the Prime Minister in the meeting asked the authorities concerned to provide free access of the expatriate Bangladeshis to the Chancery Complex there once it is built.
She has also stressed the necessity for keeping all necessary amenities there like spacious sitting arrangements, toilets and water facilities considering the huge number of expatriates there.
The Prime Minister also underscored the need for further reducing the delay in processing and implementation of the development projects.
