Four found dead in three districts
Four persons were found dead in three districts- Jashore, Kurigram and Bandarban, in two days.
JASHORE: Police recovered a college boy's body beside the Bhairab River in Sadar Upazila of the district on Monday afternoon.
Deceased Sohanur Rahman Sohag, 18, was a 12th grader at Hamidpur Al Hera College, and the son of Habibur Rahman Habib of Mollapara Amtala area in the upazila.
Habib alleged one Jitu Rakib of the same village, along with three to four men called Sohanur out of the house on Sunday night. Since then, he was missing. Later, on Monday afternoon, locals saw the body in the said area and informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to a local hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station (PS) Moniruzzaman.
Police suspect he might have been hacked to death by some miscreants and later the body was dumped there, the OC added.
KURIGRAM: Police recovered bodies of two persons from Ulipur Upazila of the district on Monday.
Police recovered a woman's hanging body from Surirdara Village under Dhamshreni Union in the upazila on Monday afternoon. Deceased Kabita Begum, 20, was the daughter of Abdul Karim of the village, and a divorcee.
Family members found the door of Kabita's room locked from inside in the afternoon. As she did not respond despite calling, family members broke open the door and found her hanging from the ceiling. Ulipur PS OC Moazzem Hossen confirmed the incident.
On the other hand, police recovered the body of a village doctor from the same upazila on Monday morning.
Locals saw a body in a paddy field near Sonapur Bazaar in the morning and informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Kurigram Sadar Hospital morgue, said OC Moazzem Hossen.
Deceased Joynul Abedin was a village doctor and a resident of Saheber Alga Union in the upazila.
BANDARBAN: A woman was found slaughtered in Lama Upazila of the district early Sunday.
Deceased Golapi Begum, 47, was the wife of Md Shahjahan of Chiuni Khalpara area. Locals said some miscreants slaughtered Golapi some time at night while she was sleeping with her grandson.
The victim's family found the slaughtered body when they woke up for Fajr prayer and informed police.
Lama PS OC Appela Raju Naha said a police team was sent to the spot.
