14 Indian fishermen held in Bay


Members of Bangladesh Navy on Tuesday detained 14 Indian fishermen along with a trawler from the Fairway Buoy area of the Bay of Bengal for intruding into the Bangladesh maritime territory.

A patrol team of Navy detained them while fishing in the Bangladesh territory in the morning, said officer-in-charge of Mongla Police Station Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury.
 
The detainees were handed over to police in the evening, he said.

With this, a total of 63 Indian fishermen were detained from the Fairway Buoy area in the last 23 days.
