Three persons killed selves in three districts- Manikganj, Bogura and Mymensingh, in three days.
MANIKGANJ: A college girl killed self by hanging at Bhadiakhola Village under Balla Union in Harirampur Upazila of the district on Saturday evening.
Deceased Afroza Akhter, 17, was the student of class XII at Jhitka Khwaza Rahmat Ali Degree College.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Harirampur Police Station (PS) Muid Chowdhury said, being informed by locals, police recovered the body and handed it over to family members without autopsy.
An unnatural death case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
NANDIGRAM, BOGURA: A housewife committed suicide in Chaklama Village under Bhatgram Union in Nandigram Upazila of the district on Friday.
Deceased Bithi Akhter, 22, was the wife of Babu Mia of the same area.
Local sources said Babu, son of Yakub, often physically tortured his wife. After being beaten for two continuous days, Bithi got emotionally hurt, and took poisonous medicines to kill herself at around 9am on Friday.
Later, the locals took Bithi to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital immediately, where she died at around 11 in the morning.
Sub-Inspector of Nandigram PS Abdur Rahim visited the spot.
GAFARGAON, MYMENSINGH: Police recovered a woman's hanging body from Gafargaon Upazila of the district on Wednesday night.
Deceased Bithi Rani Barman, 22, was the wife of Bokul Chandra Barman of Bhorpur Village in the upazila.
Family members of Bithi saw her body hanging inside the house at night and informed police.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Pagla PS OC Shahinuzzaman Khan confirmed the incident.
