Debate competition held at BSMRAU
One of the main causes of the moral degradation of youth is engaging in addiction and militancy; to address these issues Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) debating society organized a debate competition on drug addiction and militancy to raise awareness among the students at the university premises from October 18-20, 2019.
On the first day of this event, a workshop held on anti-terrorism and anti-militancy where they discussed the fundamentals and rules of parliamentary debate. On the second day, 12th team took part in the deciding event, and two teams had been selected for the final round and they fought in the final day.
Vice-Chancellor of BSMRAU Prof Mohammad Ghiyasuddin Mia was present as chief guest where Treasurer Prof Tofail Ahmed was the special guest and Prof Dr Md Khorshed Alam Bhuiya chaired the programme.
Shahid Tajuddin hall Provost Dr Imrul kays was the speaker in the parliamentary debate of the final phase. Prof Mohammad Ghiyasuddin Mia welcomed the delegation and personally assured the highest cooperation to the debating society for conducting this type of function in the future.
In closing conclave, President of the Society, Kaushik Chakrabarti said, "We have already had some ideas for spreading in the campus and discussing our best efforts in creating open communication environment and cooperating with the authorities".
