Hefazat-e-Islam’s countrywide demo Tuesday
Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh will hold a countrywide demonstration on Tuesday to protest Sunday’s clash in Bhola that left four people dead.
Maulana Junayed Babu Nagari, secretary general of the organisation, announced the programme on Monday at a press briefing at Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Moinul Islam in Chattogram.
As per the announcement, processions and rallies will be held every district across the country after Zohr prayers on Tuesday, said Babu Nagari.
At the briefing, he demanded compensation for the families of those who were killed and injured in the Bhola clashpunishment of the police personnel responsible for the firing on the agitating people.
“If government can execute the 13-point demand of Hefazat-e-Islam, there will be no unrest in the country,” said Babu Nagari.
Nayeb-e-Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam maulana Tajul Islam, Firoze Shah, Lukman Hakim, Salimollah and Mahmudul Hasan, among others, were present at briefing.
Earlier on Sunday, four people were killed and over 150 injured during the clash with police in Borhanuddin upazila over a Facebook post that allegedly demean Islam.
