JCD comes under attack at DU
Members of Muktijoddha Mancha, a platform comprising descendants of freedom fighters, on Sunday allegedly attacked Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activists on the Dhaka University campus leaving four persons injured.
Muktijoddha Mancha alleged that JCD General Secretary Iqbal Hossain in a facebook status threatened the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina while JCD claimed the facebook account had been hacked.
Witness said leaders of Muktijoddha Mancha were holding a press conference at Modhur Canteen on the alleged facebook status posted by JCD General Secretary Iqbal Hossain Shyamol.
A Chhatra Dal activist claimed that Muktijuddho Mancha President Aminul Islam Bulbul and General Secretary Al Mamun along with the platform's DU unit President Sonnet Mahmud carried out the attack.
Aminul is the current Vice-President of Chhatra League and Mamun is former deputy liberation war and research affairs secretary of Chhatra League central committee.
Mansura Alam, Chhatra Dal's Vice-President Candidate of Shamshunnahar Hall union during Ducsu polls, claimed that Muktijuddho Mancha leaders assaulted Chhatra Dal leaders after holding a press conference inside Madhur Canteen. Earlier in the press conference, the platform declared Chhatra Dal unwanted on Dhaka University campus.
The BNP student wing men Mamun Khan (SM Hall 2003-04), Shahjahan Shaon (Zia Hall 2008-09), Tarek Hasan Mamun (Zia Hall 2010-11) and Nayeem were injured during the attack.
They were later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
JCD leaders said JCD President and General Secretary's Facebook accounts were hacked and they filed General Dairy in this regard with Tejgaon Police Station.
