Two killed in two districts
Two persons were killed in separate incidents in two districts- Patuakhali and Sirajganj, on Saturday.
BAUPHAL, PATUAKHALI: Miscreants slaughtered a trader at Sabupura Village under Boga Union in Bauphal Upazila of the district on Saturday night.
Deceased Siddik Sharif, 48, was the son of late Ayaz Uddin Sharif of the village, and a bKash and flexiload trader.
Locals said the trader was returning home after closing his shop at night. On the way near Mother and Child Welfare Centre, miscreants slaughtered him, and after confirming his death, left the body there.
Locals informed, the deceased was a Dubai expatriate and returned home recently, where he started the business.
Officer-in-Charge of Bauphal Police Station (PS) Khandaker Mostafizur Rahman said police recovered the body.
SIRAJGANJ: A youth was beaten to death by his opponents in Tekani Union under Kazipur Upazila of the district on Saturday.
Deceased Sabuj, 26, was the son of Niljan Sheikh of Char Adityapur Village in the union.
Police recovered the body from Kinar Ber Village of the same union on Saturday noon.
In this connection, police arrested four persons. They are: Moiful Begum, wife of Sarbesh Sheikh, Taslima, wife of her son Abdul Motaleb Babu, Shohag Rana, son of Surya Sheikh, and Abul Kalam, son of Abul Munshi. They all are residents of Kinar Ber Village.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Kazipur PS Zahidul Islam said the murder happened due to a previous clash between Sabuj and Sarbesh Sheikh's son Babul Sheikh.
Babul with a group of people called Sabuj from his home on Friday night. Later, locals saw Sabuj's body in front of Sarbesh Sheikh's house in the morning, and informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent it Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Several injury marks were found in the body.
