After completion of the Kanchpur, Meghna and Gumti 2nd bridges on the highway, it took just two hours to go to Dhaka to Cumilla, now its takes at least seven to eight hours due to the today's gridlock.

The traffic jam began since Friday afternoon and today it turned into severe situation.

Sources in Daudkandi Highway Police Station said renovation works began on Friday closing one side of Meghna bridge and vehicles were allowed to ply through just one lane that caused the traffic congestion.
