Ferry services on Kathalbari-Shimulia route resume

Ferry services on Kathalbari-Shimulia route resumed on Friday morning, after five days of suspension due to poor navigability.

More than 300 vehicles are still waiting to cross the Padma River.

Ferry services on the route were suspended on Sunday because of recession of water level in the channel of Louhajang turning point.

On October 15, the ghat authorities suspended ferry services on the route for indefinite period because of the navigability porblem.

BIWTC manager Abdul Alim said they have normalcy in ferry plying has been brought back to some extent after removal of sand in the channel.
