CPA, EagleRail sign MoU on container movement

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 17: The Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) and the EagleRail of USA have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for conducting a feasibility study on moving the container from ICD to ICD on Thursday.
The MoU was signed at CPA conference room this afternoon. The MOU was signed by Rear Admiral Zulfiqar Aziz, Chairman of CPA and Mr Mike of EagleRail Container Logistic on behalf their respective organizations.
Senior officials of CPA and the Eagle Rail Container Logistic were present on the occasion.
EagleRail is a Chicago based company providing solution to ports to move container in hanging state.
This system effectively can move container without affecting normal city traffic. The system will run by eagle i software and that will be synchronized with existing CTMS as per Expert of EagleRail. Now study will be carried out to assess the environmental, economic, social and land use aspect.
After the study report CPA will consider about the execution. The study will be done by the EagleRail with their own fund. CPA will engage BUET to oversee the study from expert point of view. As per EagleRail experts the system will reduce congestion inside port and as well as in the highways. The system is new with proven technology.
