DSCC councillor Sayeed removed

The Local Government Division (LGD) under the Local Government and Rural Development Ministry on Thursday removed controversial Dhaka South City Corporation Councilor AKM Mominul Haque Sayeed from his position.
He was removed for not attending the council meeting regularly and travelling abroad without prior permission.
A gazette notification was issued from the LGD on Thursday removing Councilor Sayeed, who is now in Malaysia to skip arrest for his alleged involvement in running
casinos and gambling in different clubs in the city.
LGD Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed signed the notification.
In the notification, the secretary said Sayeed was absent from 13 meetings out of total 18 meetings of the corporations without permission of the legal authority.
At the same time, he was travelling abroad without permission of the authority.
Despite serving several show-cause notices, the council has kept mum on the issues, which is completely violation of the article 13(2) of the Local Government (City Corporations) Law, 2009.
Considering the situation and recommendation of the Dhaka South City Corporation's (DSCC), Councilor of Ward No. 9 Sayeed was removed from his position, it read.
