Security of life demanded in Gopalganj
GOPALGANJ, Oct 15: One Awlad Hossein of Munirkandi Village in Muksudpur Upazila of the district organised a press conference at the district press club on Saturday, demanding security of his life.
In a written statement, he said, "Some miscreants of the area have been torturing me over my land for long. They demanded Tk 1 lakh on September 18 last and threatened me of dire consequences if I do not give the money. I filed a case with Maksudpur Police Station in this connection. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station Mostofa Kamal Pasha ordered Sub-Inspector of Shindiaghat Police Outpost Alamgir to investigate the matter."
Awlad Hossein also said, "The miscreants attacked my house on September 21 last, and looted Tk 56,000 and 21 bhoris of gold. They also damaged furniture and ceramic goods of my house."
He also added that while he wanted to file a case in this connection, OC did not take the case first; later on OC took the case on September 25 last. On the other hand, the criminals have also filed a case against him.
He also alleged that due to police's inactivity, the criminals have given life threat to him and his family. So he feels unsecured, Awlad Hossein added.
