Samrat taken to court

Expelled Jubo League Dhaka South Unit president Ismail Hossain Samrat has been taken to a Dhaka court from Keraniganj Central Jail.
Police produced him before Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court around 11:45am on Tuesday.
On the hand, the followers of the former Jubo League leader took position outside the court and were staging demonstration there demanding his release.
Additional police have been deployed in and outside the court area.
The influential Jubo League leader came under the spotlight after the Rapid Action Battalion unearthed illegal casino hubs in sporting clubs in Dhaka on September 18.
The elite force members arrested Samrat and his close aide Arman from Chauddagram upazila of Cumilla early morning on October 6.
Later, they raided Samrat's office in Bhuiyan Trade Centre at Kakrail and recovered a loaded pistol, 1,160 Yaba pills, 19 bottles of foreign liquor and two Kangaroo skins.
He was, later, sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for possessing animal hide.
On October 8, he was admitted to National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) following a chest pain. And he was discharged from the hospital on October 12.
