4 killed in Sept at Nageshwari
NAGESHWARI, KURIGRAM, Oct 14: Four persons were killed in separate incidents in Nageshwari Upazila of the district in September.
Out of them, a man killed his elder brother and an unknown man killed three persons including a couple.
It was found that younger brother Mohammad Ali, 50, killed his elder brother Abdul Wahab Kha, 55, as they had a fight over fishing at Paschim Shukhati Kha Para Village in the upazila on September 9.
Deceased's wife filed a case with Nageshwari Police Station (PS) against her brother-in-law Mohammad Ali, his wife Mariam Begum, son Golam Mostofa and Asia Begum. Police arrested Mohammad Ali, his son Golam Mostofa and Asia Begum on that day.
On the following morning, the body of a mechanic Mamun Mia, 16, son of late Saifur Rahman of Aleper Tepathi Policetari Village under Santoshpur Union was found in a paddy field in Neparkuchi Beel (water body) of Raiganj Union, about 2.5-km from his house.
A farmer, going to apply pesticide to his land, found the body and informed police. Later, police recovered the body.
Injury marks were found on the body, police said.
His family informed that he went out for work on Monday but did not return.
His mother filed a case with Nageshwari PS against an unknown criminal. But, none was arrested in this connection.
On the other hand, a dual murder occurred in Bania Village near Upazila Sadar cattle market on September 26.
Police and locals said unknown miscreants killed moneylender Nazrul Islam Mena, 55, and his second wife Rumi Begum, 32, at night. After hearing the cry of their child Rifat, neighbours went to their house and found the bodies.
Being informed, police recovered the bodies.
The deceased's elder brother Fazar Ali filed a case with Nageshwari PS.
OC of the PS Rawshan Kabir said, "We are hoping to arrest the criminals as soon as possible."
