Three wildlife traders held in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Oct 14: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested three illegal wildlife traders and seized 31 wild birds and two rabbits worth about Taka 1.07-lakh from their possession from Lalbag Bazaar in the city on Sunday night.
"An operational team of the Crime Prevention Specialised Company of RAB-13 arrested the three persons red-handed while illegally trading with the wild birds and rabbits from the spot," a press release.
The arrested persons were identified as Mohammad Ali, 25, of New Adarshapara area and Mozammel Hossain, 55, of Deodoba Kamarpara area and Feroz Alam, 40, of Mahiganj area in Rangpur city.

The seized wildlife included eight parrots worth Taka 40,000, two 'Dahuk' birds worth Taka 5,000, 21 'Munia' birds worth Taka 42,000 and two rabbits of foreign species worth Taka 20,000.
