U-15 women's soccer team earn fighting draw against India
The Bangladesh U-15 women's team earned a fighting 1-1 goal draw against strong India in their third and last match of the SAFF U-15 Women's Championship held on Sunday at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan.
With this outcome, both Bangladesh and India, which already confirmed their spot of final, have secured seven points from three matches but India topped the table by virtue of better goal difference.
Both the teams will now play the final for the battle of SAFF crown scheduled to be held on Tuesday (October 15) at the same venue.
In the day's match, Amisha Baxla put India ahead in the 24th minute but their lead lasted a little as Sapna Rani scored the equalizer for Bangladesh in the 26th minute of the match.
After the resumption, both the teams got several scoring chances but failed to increase the lead. Earlier, Bangladesh got off to a winning start as they blanked host Bhutan by 2-0 goals and defeated Nepal by 2-1 goals. -BSS
