Publisher Dipan murder trial begins

Banned militant outfit Ansar-Al-Islam's military wing chief sacked Major Ziaul Haque and seven members of the group have been indicted in the murder of publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan.
Judge Md Mujibur Rahman of the Anti-Terrorism Special Tribunal framed charges against the accused on Sunday.
The tribunal also set November 18 for recording testimonies of the witnesses.
The other accused are: Akram Hossain alias Hasib, Moinul Hassan Shamim alias Samir, Abdur Sabur Samad, Khairul Islam, Abu Siddik Sohel, Mozammel Hussain and Sheikh Abdullah.
They are all members of the banned militant outfit 'Ansar Al Islam', according to the police.
Six suspects were present in the dock when the charges were framed.
Ziaul Haque and Akram are on the run.
Dipan, 43, was killed in his office at the Aziz Super Market in Dhaka on October 31, 2015.
Few months before, the militants killed writer and blogger Avijit Roy in front of the TSC on Dhaka University campus on February 26 the same year.
