No torture cell at CU: VC

CHATTOGRAM Oct 12: There is no 'torture cell' in any Chattogram University hall, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Chattogram University Prof Dr Shirin Akhtar told the Daily Observer on Saturday.
She claimed that peaceful co-existence of all the activists of different student organisations including the Chhatra League is prevailing on the campus.
She also said that academic atmosphere on the campus was very good.
Prof Shirin said that two vigilance teams would be formed to monitor the halls of the university.
The CU VC visited six residential Halls among nine on Saturday. They are Pritilata Hall, Shamsunnahar Hall, Begum Khaleda Zia Hall, Abdur Rab Hall, Suhrawardy Hall and Surja Sen Hall.
On Sunday she will visit Sir AF Rahman Hall, Alaol Hall and Shah Amanat Hall.
