Enters the affection, exits the romance
In Prime time of youth
She came with love offering;
He remained unmoved
With a blank look at her.
Like a tigress jumping over a whining fawn
She snatched a book from his hand;
To incite him to take a love offering anew
That equally fell on blind look.
She asked for a flower from his garden
That he unromantically declined;
Lovelorn she went berserk and stoned him on his way
That he complained to her brother in sheer stupidity.
In one stage, love offering brewed in him
In quarantine at distant chilly land;
She responded with equal gesture of romance.
That finally fizzled out for telling truths only.
From quarantine, love rolled in snow-clad pine forests
That sustained for months in all hues & colors;
Only to be faded out
Cause of intrigue & machination of fellow compatriots.
Love at last anchored in wedlock
To sustain till last breath;
With running away of romance through windows
When pristine love & affection of grandchildren
Enters in through doors of mind wide open.
With never turning her face from him
She is still glued in him in enduring peace;
With fuels of romance sinking
In the deluge of giggles & laughter
Of loving grandchildren day & night.
Yet love & romance of bygone days
Peeps in often from recesses of diehard memories.
Till such time memories are interred with bones.
In the final days when life melts in gripping darkness
