BUET VC fails to go Fahad's house facing protest

Slain BUET student Abrar Fahad's younger brother has received injuries in police action when local people obstructed the Vice Chancellor from visiting his house on Wednesday.
BUET Vice Chancellor Prof saiful Islam on Wednesday offered fateha at the grave of Fahad at Raidanga village in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia at about 4:30pm.
Fahad's father Barkat Ullah and younger brother Abrar Fayaz also accompanied him.
But, villagers intercepted the VC from visiting Fahad's mother at their house.
As the car carrying the VC tried to proceed, women lied down on the ground before the car, creating a chaotic situation.
At that time, police charged batons on the protesters that left Fayaz and two women injured.
Witnesses said, police pushed Fayaz as he asked the VC for his delayed appearance.
Huge police force had been deployed in Raidanga village before the VC's visit there
Abrar Fahad, 21, a second year student of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), was found dead at his dormitory Sher-e-Bangla Hall early Monday.
