JU students block Dhaka-Aricha highway

The students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) have blocked the Dhaka-Aricha highway demanding highest punishment to those involved with the murder of Abrar Fahad, a student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
They brought out a procession from central library chattar of the university around 12:30pm and then, blocked the Dhaka-Aricha highway adjacent to the university.
Around 1:00pm, they withdrew the blockade, taking public suffering into consideration.
JU unit Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Adhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad convener Shakil Uzzaman said Fahad has been killed in planned way. He said those involved in the murder should be brought to book soon.
Abrar Fahad, 21, a second year student of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), was found dead at his dormitory Sher-e-Bangla Hall early Monday.
The dormitory students alleged that Fahad was beaten to death by Bangladesh Chhatra League men at one stage of questioning him on suspicion of Shibir activist following his facebook post over recent several deals with India.
Police have, so far, arrested 13 BUET students, including 10 BCL leaders, in a case filed by Fahad's father over the murder.
