A decision has been taken to ban teacher and student politics at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
The decision was taken following a discussion between student representatives and teachers.
BUET Teachers' Association president professor KM Masud on Wednesday confirmed the matter to protesting students and media.
Meanwhile, BUET Vice Chancellor Prof Saiful Islam went to slain Fahad's home in Kushtia.
The VC could not be reached for his comments on the decision.
The decision came in the wake of BUET students' ongoing protest since Monday over the murder of their fellow Abrar Fahad.
Abrar Fahad, 21, a second year student of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), was found dead at his dormitory Sher-e-Bangla Hall early Monday.
The dormitory students alleged that Fahad was beaten to death by Bangladesh Chhatra League men at one stage of questioning him on suspicion of Shibir activist following his facebook post over recent several deals with India.
Police have, so far, arrested 13 BUET students, including 10 BCLleaders, in a case filed by Fahad's father over the murder.
