Gas cylinder explosion kills 2

A youth and his nephew were burnt to death when a gas cylinder exploded at a tea stall in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria early Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Babu Mia, 18, son of Shah Alam Miah, and his nephew Alamgir, 19, son of Hazi Bachchu Mia. They were the residents of Sreerampur union in the upazila.
The gas cylinder was exploded at Shah Alam Miah’s tea stall adjacent to Kacharipara Mosque in the unoin around 3am while Babu and Alamgir were sleeping inside the stall, leaving the duo dead on the spot, said Nabinagar Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Ronozit Ray.
Hearing the news from a mosque mike in the area, locals rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire.
The body was sent to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital morgue, the OC added.
