15,000 villagers face problem for deplorable road at Char Fasson
CHAR FASSON, BHOLA, Oct 8: People are suffering for deplorable condition of an eight-kilometre road in Nazimuddin Village under No. 3 Ward of Char Madras Union in Char Fasson Upazila of the district.
From the beginning of the monsoon, the road becomes muddy. In this connection, about 15,000 villagers suffer for travelling between the village and Sadar Upazila regularly.
The soil of this earthen road becomes soft following any scanty rainfall. But, commuters are forced to use the road as there is no option.
Local students, who use the road regularly, said, "We are facing trouble while going to our respective educational institutions." Taking patients to Upazila Health Complex is also hazardous, said locals.
After crossing about 2-km road to the south from the Oli Dafadar road, east of Char Fasson Police Station, the earthen road connects a guide dam on the Meghna riverbank.
A local newspaper hawker Md Kabir said, "I have to travel to upazila sadar and return home through the road amid much trouble."
Local people demanded that local lawmaker Abdullah Al Islam be kind enough to pay heed to the construction of the road.
While contacted, local Union Parishad Chairman Mozammel Zamadar said, "I have visited the road. I will talk with the concerned authority so that the road is paved."
Upazila Engineer of Local Government Engineering Department Rezaul Karim said official activities are on to build the road.
