11 BCL leaders, activists of BUET unit expelled
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has expelled 11 leaders and activists of its BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering and technology) unit in connection with the killing of Abrar Fahad, a student of the university.
A press release signed by BCL President Al Nahian Khan Joy and General Secretary Lekhak Bhattacharya was issued in this regard on Monday night.
The BCL central committee took the decision based on the recommendations of the two-member probe committee formed by the party to investigate the murder incident on Monday morning, the press release added.
The expelled leaders and activists are BCL BUET unit general secretary Mahedi Hasan Russel, vice-president Muhtasim Fahad, organising secretary Mahedi Hasan Rabin, information and research secretary Anik Sarker, sports secretary Maftahul Islam, literature secretary Moniruzzaman Monir, deputy social welfare secretary Efti Mosharraf Sakal, deputy office secretary
Mostofa Rafid and three members---Muntasir Al Jemi, Ehtemamul Rabbi and Muzahidur Rahman.
Abrar Fahad, 21, a second year student of electrical and electronic engineering (EEE) of BUET was beaten to death at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university early Monday.
