Dengue panic haunts Bagha people
RAJSHAHI, Sept 23: Dengu panic spreads in different villages of Bagha Upazila of the district. The villagers are now living in fear of dengue attack.
On Friday, eight people including two from the same family had been affected by dengue in the upazila. Five of them returned home after treatment. The other three persons are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Among them, Ravishal, 70, son of late Haripad of Haripur Village, Bhashan Ali, 35, son of Idris Ali of the same village, and Rokan Hossain, 11, son of Akram Master were admitted and taking treatment at Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) for three days. Rokan Ali, a student of local Bausa Government Primary School of class 5, was placed in the ICU.
Some dengu victims are lecturer of a private college Rubel Ahmed, son of late Azizul Alam of Chakarpara Village under Arani Municipality of the upazila and his cousin Sagar Ali's daughter Setu Khatun, Hasibul Islam, son of Tagar Ali of Gochar Village under Arani Municipality, and Masud Rana, son of Muntar Ali of Chakshinga Village of Arani, and Akalima Bewa's son Alfaz Hossain. They are reported to be well with treatment.
Bagha Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Sirajul Islam said, "I have heard that some dengue patients suffer in Bagha Upazila. But they did not come to me for treatment."
