Judicial officers asked not to use social media during work

Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the judicial officials to strictly avoid use of social media during office hour, with an objective of full use of work hour.

Presence of judicial officials in social media must be avoided from 9:30am to 4:30pm, said a notification signed by SC Registrar General Dr Md Zakir Hossain on Sunday.

The SC also directed the judicial officers that they cannot upload pictures and video clips of SC judges, publish and disclose information and make comments against the national unity and spirit.

Defying the instructions would be considered as misconduct, and Bangladesh Judicial Services (Discipline) Rules, 2017 and other relevant existing laws will be applicable in this regard.
