Man killed over land dispute in Kurigram

KURIGRAM, Sept 21: A man was killed by his wife and three sons over land dispute at Bandaber Village in Roumari Upazila of the district on Thursday noon.
Deceased Nuru Mia, 53, was the son of late Azizur Rahman of the village.
Police arrested his wife Rabeya Khatun, 48, and sons- Rashedul Islam, 30, Abdullah, 22, and Atikur Rahman, 18, in this connection.
Locals and police said, the deceased was an expat in Kuwait for long, and bought six to seven bighas of land in the village. He donated half of the lands to his wife and sons, and kept the rest half with him.
However, the wife and the sons kept pressure on him to donate the rest land to them. In this connection, a feud was going on between him and his family members.
On Thursday noon, they killed Nuru Mia through hammering on his head.
Officer-in-Charge of Roumari Police Station said, police recovered and sent the body to Kurigram Hospital morgue for an autopsy on Friday.
