Police seek 14-day remand for Khaled


Police have sought a 14-day remand for Jubo League leader Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan two cases filed with Gulshan police.

Gulshan Police Station inspector Aminul Islam submitted the remand prayer with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistarte Begum Mahmuda on Thursday evening.

Earlier, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members handed over arrested Khaled Mahmud to Gulshan Police Station.

The Jubo League leader was arrested on Wednesday evening for illegally running a casino at Young Men's Club in Fakirerpool area.

Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, the elite force conducted a drive in Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club, owned by Khaled, and detained 142 people including some female employees from there.

Huge quantum of liquor and Tk 24 lakh in cash were also recovered from the club.





Among the 142 detainees, 31 were jailed for one year each and the rests for six months each.
