Tk 33 lakh recovered from late BRTA official's house

Jhenidah district administration in a  drive has recovered Tk 33.20 lakh from the residence of a late BRTA official at Kalabagan Para in the district town.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Saroj Kumar Nath raided in the residence of late Bilash Sarker, assistant director of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) on Wednesday evening and recovered the money.

Sources said earlier, the district administration sealed off the house after the death of Sarkar on September 10.

The raid is believed to have been conducted as per information given by his family members as Bilash used to live in the house alongwith his elderly mother. His wife and children live separately due to family conflict.
