Traditional boat race held in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ, Sept 17: A traditional boat race was held in the Jamuna River near Meghullah area under Belkuchi Upazila of the district on Monday afternoon.
Zila Parishad organised the race where competitors from different unions of the upazila took part in traditional boat  race.
Hundreds of people from Tangail, Pabna and Sirajganj districts gathered on the bank of the river to enjoy the race.
Lawmaker of Sirajganj-2 Dr Habibe Millat was present as chief guest in the event while Zila Parishad Chairman and President of district Awami League (AL) Abdul Latif Biswas presided over the programme.
Among others, district AL Vice President Mostafa Kamal Khan, Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad Iktekhar Uddin Shamim, and Sadar Upazila Chairman Riaz Uddin were also present.
The guests distributed prizes among the winners.
