11 senior bankers get promotion

The government has promoted 11 general managers (GMs) to deputy managing directors and appointed them to different state-owned banks and financial institutions to bring dynamism to the banking sector.
The newly promoted deputy managing directors (DMDs) had been holding positions as general managers at different state-owned banks.
The Institution of Finance Division issued the promotion order in a circular issued on Monday, directing the bank authorities concerned to make the promotions effective immediately.
"The newly promoted DMDs will hold the posts till further notice," said the circular.
According to the circular, Kaisul Islam, GM of Rupali Bank was made DMD at Bangladesh Agriculture Bank, Zahidul Haque, GM of Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation, was made DMD at Sonali Bank, Md Rafiqul Islam, GM of Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB), has been appointed as DMD to Agrani Bank, Md Josim Uddin, GM of Janata Bank, as DMD to Probashi Kallyan Bank, Shirin Akhter, GM of Agrani Bank as DMD to Bangladesh Agriculture Bank, Nizam Uddin Ahmed Chuwdhury, GM of Sonali Bank, as DMD to Agrani Bank, Mohammad Edris, GM of Janata Bank, as DMD to Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, Md Abdul Zabbar, GM of Janata Bank, as DMD to the Bank, Md Kamal Hossain, GM of ICB, as DMD to Palli Sanchay Bank and Md Shahjahan, GM of ICB, as DMD to Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation.
