Bullet-hit body recovered in Madaripur

Police recovered the bullet-hit body of an accused in 15 cases from Sadar upazila of Madaripu district on Thursday morning.

Deceased Sagor Fakir alias Kala Sagor, 35, was a resident in Dargah Sharif area under the upazipa. He was an accused in 15 cases, including of drugs, robbery and snatching, filed with different police stations of the district, said Md Badrul Alam Molla, additional superintendent of Madaripur police.

Deceased's mother Saleha Begum said Sagor was released from Madaripur district jail on bail on Tuesday. Later, he went missing after left home for Dhaka.

Locals spotted the bullet-hit body on the bank of the Arial Khan River in Mohisherchar area around 9:00 am and informed police, said ASP Badrul.

Later, police from Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Madaripur Sadar Hospital morgue.

Police also recovered a shooter gun from the spot, the ASP said.

Police suspect that Sagor might have been killed by his cohorts over sharing of mugging items, the ASP added.
