Throat-slit body found in Faridpur
Police recovered the throat-slit body of an accused in 14 cases in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur district on Thursday morning.
Deceased Ripon Kazi, 35, was a resident of Bagdanga village in the upazipa. He was accused in 14 cases, including of arms, drugs, robbery and theft, with different police stations of the district, said Md Shahidul Islam, inspector (investigation) of Boalmari Police Station.
Deceased's uncle Delwar Kazi said Ripon went out of the house on Sunday, but did not return.
Locals spotted the body in one Layek Mia's garden in Kolimajhi village around 8:00 am and informed police, said inspector Shahidul.
Later, police recovered the body and sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital morgue.
Police suspect he might have been killed by his associates either over establishing supremacy in drug business or internal dispute, the inspector said.
Earlier, Ripon served seven years of rigorous imprisonment in a case of robbery attempt in 2003,the inspector added.
