RMG workers block Tejgaon road for 3 hours

Agitated garment workers blockade the road in Tejgaon in the capital for three hours on Thursday protesting for unpaid salaries and sacking workers.
Workers of 'Nassa Mainland' took to the street around 9am and staged demonstration in front of the garment blocking the road.
Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station OC Ali Hossain said agitated workers took position in front of the garment around 11pm on Wednesday for sacking workers for the last two days. Police obstructed them when they tried to vandalise the garment.
Later, they again started sit-in since this morning, he said.
One of the workers alleged that the garment authorities sacked some workers without giving due salaries and other advantages. They also beat up the workers.
Tejgaon Industrial zone assistatnt commissioner Salman Hasan said additional police have been deployed in the area to control the situation.
The movement of vehicles remained halted on the Mogbazar-Mohakhali road following the blockade.
Later, the police able to remove the demonstrators from the street around 12pm.
