Scuffle between two BCL leaders over sitting in car
Two Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) central leaders had a fist fight on Tuesday over trifling matter of sitting inside organization's President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon's car.
The two leaders are Mohammad Touhidul Islam Chowdhury Zahir and Shahriar Kabir Biddut, both are vice presidents of ruling party's student wing.
Biddut was taken to Dhaka University Medical Centre (DUMC) for initial treatment after having scuffle in front of university's Madhur Canteen.
Eyewitnesses said that Zahir along with some other central leaders got into the back seat of the car but Biddut failed to have a seat there.
President Shovon ordered his fellow men to leave the car following an altercation between Zahir and Biddut.
Zahir and Biddut began to have a fist fight before they used bamboo to hit each other. Later Shovon hurried to the spot and cool them down, eyewitnesses said.
Biddut while being under treatment at DUMC said: "I had the scuffle over an ideological issue."
Zahir denied the allegation of hitting each other. Chhatra League President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon said it was nothing but a personal conflict between them.
