Shakib uninterested to play Test: Papon

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who is also the captain of Test and T20 side of the country, had repeatedly shown his apathy to Test captaincy.  The BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon recently informed media that Shakib is not interested to play Test cricket so he wants to avoid 'captaincy duty'.
"Shakib has no interest on Test cricket. So he is speaking this way on captaincy," Papon said to journalists on Wednesday in a press conference at Mirpur.  "We think, he does not enjoy Test cricket that's why he took rest during Tests," he added.
"We have observed that he has no curiosity to play Test cricket from long since. He wants leave during Tests in abroad. If he does captaincy, he has to play Test. When he'll not a skipper he has no obligation to play. He possibly is talking on captaincy this way for that particular reason," he explained.
Shakib is the best performer of Bangladesh irrespective to the formats and grounds. Beside, after Mushfiqur Rahim's discharge from captaincy BCB had no other choice than Shakib for longer version cricket since Mashrafe Bin Mortaza had retired even a few years ago from red-ball game. Mashrafe also called off his days from T20 cricket in 2017 and will retire from ODI cricket soon. BCB therefore, considering Shakib as the sole saviour of the team. "He has much contribution in our team. I think he is the best captain. Among the options available at our hands, he is the best," the BCB president admitted.
Shakib's recent booming to media on leadership reveal that he soon going to stay away from Test captaincy but did he informed his intension to BCB? "He doesn't inform us anything on this issue," Nazmul Hasan answered.
"A series is going on. So, I think it's not wise to discuss on it now," he finished.
