Man shot dead in B’baria

A man was shot dead by miscreants in Bancharampur upazila of Brahmanbaria early Tuesday. 

Deceased Sumon Miah, 35, was the son of late Monu Miah, a resident of Paikarchar village in the upazila. 

Local people said there were long disputes between the two groups of Oli and Iqbal in Tatuakandi village. As a sequel of it, Iqbal’s cohorts equipped with local weapons attacked on the supporter’s of Oli at Paikarchar village around 1.00am, leaving six people injured. 

Among the injured, Sumon received bullet injuries. 

The injured were rushed to Bancharampur Upazila Health Complex where Sumon succumbed to his injuries. 

Bancharampur Model Police Station officer-in-charge Salahuddin Chowdhury confirmed the matter. 

Police detained two people in this connection.
