No writing on currency notes
Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Monday issued a clean note circulation policy directing all bank officials to refrain from putting seals or staples on currency bundles or writing on bank notes.
The BB issued the circular addressing all chief executives of commercial banks in this regard.
According to the circular, seal, signature, dates and writings on fresh and re-issue note and stapling on note packet will not be allowed.
“Bank officials are mostly responsible for writing on notes. Specially putting seals on note bundles have turned into a habitual fact. As a result notes are damaging within the short time. Several times stapling on notes also damaging the longevity,” said the circular.
It also said, only bundles of Tk1,000 notes can be stapled.
