Nirbachan Bhaban fire: Probe bodies formed



Two probe bodies have been formed to investigate the fire incident at Nirbachan Bhaban that broke out on Sunday night.

Election commission formed a three-member committee, led by additional secretary Mokhlesur Rahman, and asked to submit its report within three days. Another body, formed by Fire Service and Civil Defene, has been asked to submit report by two weeks.

Earlier on Sunday night, a fire broke out in the basement of Nirbachan Bhaban in city's Agargaon area around 11:06pm.

On information, 12 firefighting units rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control around 12:30am on Monday.

Some Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were damaged by the fire where 4,500 EVMs were kept at the basement of the building.
